MEET OUR STAFF

Interim Pastor: Rev. Dr. Donna Knight
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God." Romans 8:28

For nearly a quarter of a century, Dr. Knight has served Presbyterian congregations across America in many positions – associate pastor, interim associate, pastor/head of staff, interim head of staff, pastor, and interim pastor.  Her ministry has taken her from congregations as small as 130 members to one with more than 5,000 members.  Lewinsville will be her 9th interim pastor position. Her most recent assignment was as interim head of staff at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Donna is a gifted minister who has found interim ministry to be especially rewarding.  “Jumping into something totally new, and offering a ministry during a church’s ‘in-between time’ is exhilarating and energizing for me.”

A native of Miami, Florida, she was graduated from the University of Florida and Florida International University. In preparation for the ministry, she moved to Texas where she attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, receiving a Masters of Divinity degree in 1984 and Doctor of Ministry degree in 1992.

She and her husband, Hal Pease, a retired Presbyterian pastor, have four daughters and eight grandchildren. Four of their grandchildren live in nearby Maryland.  Donna and Hal claim Austin, Texas as their permanent home, but they do a lot of traveling to keep up with family and, as Donna says, “for the sheer enjoyment of learning more about the world we live in.” When asked what she likes to do in her free time, Donna says she often responds, “Travel, read, travel, watch movies, travel, do handwork, and travel.” Click here to email Dr. Knight.

Associate Pastor: The Reverend Emily Berman D'Andrea
"Love one another from the heart fervently."
I Peter 1:22

In April, 2002, Rev. Emily D'Andrea joined the Lewinsville staff as Associate Pastor. Emily came to us from Burke Presbyterian Church. At Lewinsville church, she assists the Senior Pastor in his duties, preaches regularly, and works closely with Session to implement spiritual growth programs for our members.

Emily graduated from Davidson College in 1988 and Princeton Theological Seminary in 1997. Following graduation, she was awarded a Graduate Study Fellowship, which took her to France, Scotland, and North East Asia for a year. While abroad, she studied Christian worship in various cultural contexts.

Emily possesses a contagious enthusiasm for spiritual exploration and study. She has also served on several Presbytery committees. She is proficient in French, plays the flute, and has been known to break out in song in the middle of a sermon. Click Here to email Rev. D'Andrea.

Director of Music Ministries: Dr. Edward Alan Moore
"O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things."  Psalm 98

After an exhaustive nationwide search, Lewinsville welcomed Dr. Edward Alan Moore as its new Director of Music Ministries on November 1, 2004. Ed continues a tradition of musical excellence for which our church is known throughout the region.

The native of Girard, Ohio received his Bachelor of Music degree from Grove City College, PA in 1991. He was awarded a Master's degree from University of Illinois in 1993, and received a Doctorate from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY in 1999.

Throughout his academic career, Ed shared his talent with many churches, often serving as organist, choral conductor, handbell director and leader of instrumental ensembles. Today, Ed is in great demand as a recitalist and has performed in concert at the Kennedy Center, the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and Washington National Cathedral, to name a few.

In recognition of his considerable talent and leadership skills, his peers chose Ed to chair the national convention of the American Guild of Organists to be held in Washington, DC in 2010. Click Here to email Dr. Moore

Staff Emeritus:

The Reverend Gary G. Pinder, Pastor Emeritus
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Ps 119.105

Rev. Pinder served Lewinsville Church for 37 years, from 1968 through 2005. Gary's tenure included several milestones in mission growth and outreach for the church. As part of an outreach program to the local community, Lewinsville Church opened a 144-unit retirement home for the elderly in 1980 on land immediately adjacent to the church. During the 1980s, he shepherded the membership through a $2.5 million renovation and expansion of the sanctuary and physical plant. In 2003, he was instrumental in starting the "Journey for Discernment," an effort by the church to redefine its mission. From Rochester, New York, Gary is a graduate of the College of Wooster and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He and wife Barbara plan to reside in Maine.
