FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have a list of estate planning attorneys with whom I might consult?

Yes. Select “Publications” from the menu on the left of this page. You will find a downloadable page containing a partial list of attorneys in the Northern Virginia area who are available to consult with you.

Will my gift be made known to others?

Not if you wish to keep it confidential. If you want to remain anonymous, we will keep your name and your gift in confidence, and your name will not be published.

What if I want to leave something but it is such a small gift it is not likely to be very helpful. May I join The 1846 Covenant Society anyway?

The size of your planned gift is irrelevant and you will not be asked or required to divulge the amount, terms or conditions, if any, attached to your planned gift. We do plan to include a roster of Society members in the annual report to the Congregation. Even so, if you wish to remain anonymous, your wish will be respected.

What do I need to do to join?

Just complete a confirmation card and send it to the Foundation. Mail it to us or put it in the collection plate on any Sunday

What if I don’t have a will?

Monetary gifts are welcome at any time, but it is through the process of our own estate planning that we can make a truly lasting impact on the mission of Lewinsville Church. We strongly encourage you to consult legal counsel on the importance of preparing a will.

Where can I get more information?

The current Foundation chairperson, Rosalind Phillips, is available to answer your questions. She welcomes your e-mail questions at 1846covenantsociety@lewinsville.org. Or, you may wish to call her, 703-237-8590.
