INSTRUCTIONS: Please look at the signup sheet below and determine what available time you would like to donate blood on SUNDAY, January 10, 2010 . Then complete the form at the bottom of this page and submit your request. You will receive a confirmation via return email within 24 hours.

PLEASE NOTE that there are new restrictions for blood donors due to travel. They are listed at the bottom of this page, or CLICK HERE to read those restrictions.

Once you have made an appointment, it is very important to come at the selected time. If for some reason you are unable to make your appointment, please call Connie Schafer at 703-860-5823. She will then be able to make your time slot available to another.

Donor Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age: 17 years minimum (no maximum limit)
  • Health: General in good health, you must be well for 3 days (no symptoms of illness including colds)
  • Weight: 110 pounds minimum
  • Identification: Photo ID (such as driver's license) must be presented

Many conditions require temporary waits before you may donate. For complete information, see the Inova Blood Drive website.

Travel/residency restrictions for donating blood. You may not donate blooks if you traveled or resided in any of the following countries for the accumulated time stated:

  • You visited/resided in the United Kingdom (England, Channel Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales) for a total of 3 months or more between 1980 and 1996.
  • Six months associated with a military base:
    • from 1980-1990 in Belgium, Germany, Netherlands;
    • from 1980-1996 in Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, or Turkey
  • Five years or more from 1980 to present: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poalnd, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
