Website Administrator; Social Media, Email, Graphics Creation & Execution + Paid Media  

Part-Time, $18-$25/an hour – 25 hrs. per week (compensation commensurate with experience)

The people of Lewinsville Presbyterian Church are a vibrant, committed suburban faith community that believe our purpose is “to love and serve God by responding to human need.” Lewinsville has unique opportunities to fulfill that purpose, given our location (close to Washington, DC) and an informed and engaged membership that seeks to have great impact by ministering to our hurting communities, nation, and world. The church has a long history of following Jesus’ call to serve our neighbors which includes founding two senior living facilities, involvement with a nearby, predominantly low-income elementary school, and supporting various mission partners that serve at risk populations in the DC metro area. An “Earth Care Congregation” that is committed to stewardship of the environment, Lewinsville also aspires to become more involved in combating systemic racism and inequality. To further our mission, we would like to develop and enhance our digital, web, and social media presence. 

YOUR ROLE

We need a digital media specialist to oversee our website (currently in WordPress), design new pages, coordinate layout and organization, graphic design, landing pages, and integration with necessary plug-ins, as well as designing print materials, custom web graphics, infographics, banners/slides. Your goals will be to maintain a website for our congregation and community while collaborating with church leadership and congregants, maintain our social media accounts and email mechanisms in ways that are elegant, clean, easy to navigate, and reach our community in digestible and compelling ways.

BASIC SKILLS (Required)

  • Strong WordPress Proficiency
  • Landing Page Design/Optimization
  • Print Material Design
  • Photoshop/Graphics Skills
  • Social Media Posting (currently Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, but expansion is desired)
  • Liaison with church and ministry group leadership
  • Email Support
  • Content Writing
  • Written and Oral Communication Skills
  • Active Listening Skills, the ability to work with diverse groups of people and hear their requests
  • Inquisitive, organized, and detail-oriented

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS:

Working knowledge of SEO: keyword density, meta tags, site structure, keyword research, reporting and analytics
