Families often find it difficult to talk about aging. It can be hard for older parents and/or their adult children to discuss the aging parents’ needs. Alternately, conversations about the steps adult children should be taking to preparing for their own aging can also be difficult to initiate and sustain. Some of us find ourselves playing both roles, as the children of older parents and parents of our own adult children who should be thinking about these matters. This presentation will discuss and provide some tips about how to initiate such conversations and topics such discussions might cover.

The presentation is hosted by the Lewinsville Presbyterian Church Older Adult Council, and held in connection with our collaboration with Chesterbrook Residences and the other sponsoring congregations, Immanuel Presbyterian Church and Temple Rodef Shalom.

The speaker will be Rebecca Porter, LCSW-C, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA), who has spoken at Lewinsville several times on topics related to aging.
