SUNDAY, MARCH 17 from 9:45-10:45 am

FOR CHILDREN, AGES 4 through GRADE 6 and PARENTS

IN FELLOWSHIP HALL

PURIM is the most raucous holiday on the Jewish calendar and is a fun observance of the Story of Esther (found in the Old Testament). Observance of the holiday begins with dressing up in costume of one of the characters from the story, listening to the story of Purim and making noise with a noisemaker every time the name “Haman” is mentioned.

Children and Parents are invited to learn the story of Queen Esther through carnival type games and activities. We will also perform some of the traditional activities of this Jewish Holiday that has been compared to a Jewish “Mardi Gras” or “Halloween”.
