Along with our sermon series dealing with the Letter to the Romans (see below), we will offer four Wednesday nights at the movies.  Each movie will thematically be linked with the sermon topic to be preached on the following Sunday.

The last date is:

  • August 23 – Hidden Figures

The movies will be shown in Fellowship Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Movie goers may wish to bring a comfortable chair (lawn chair) and “movie snacks” to share.

Roamin’ Through Romans: Summer of Mercy

The worship theme for the summer of 2017 is “Roaming Through Romans: Summer of Mercy.”
Throughout many of the weeks of the summer, we will be preaching the lectionary texts for Paul’s Letter to the Romans.

The letter to the Romans is a very important letter in the New Testament, and has played a crucial role in the Protestant Reformation, in Christian thinking generally, and in the lives of individual Christians. It is a challenging letter, which roots our faith in the righteousness of God.

Alongside Romans, we will be considering a variety of ‘acts of mercy’ as the Christian tradition has discerned them: visiting the prisoner, forgiving all injuries, giving drink to the thirsty, sheltering the homeless, etc.
