COVID-19: Exploring Community Needs & Responses
Saturday, June 13, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., via Zoom
The COVID-19 crisis has brought suffering worldwide and in our local community, especially among the most vulnerable. In this program, we’ll begin learning about the impacts in Northern Virginia and how we can help.
Speakers will include Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust and representatives from three local nonprofits: Pete Snyder of the VA 30-Day Fund., which is working to support small businesses during the crisis; Jorge Figuerodo of Edu-Futuro , which works with immigrant youth and their families; Lewinsville’s own Renie Ruehlin, who is a board member of SHARE , our local food pantry, and Dave Porterfield, member of Lewinsville’s Mission & Service Ministry Group. As with all Faith & Public Policy programs, ample time will be allowed for discussion.
