Faith And Public Policy (F&PP) Breakfast Saturday December 7 – 8:30-10:30am, in the chapel.
Everyone is invited to share a continental breakfast and fellowship, and to learn about the work of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP) that Lewinsville, along with over 100 other Virginia faith communities, helps support. VICPP advocates before the Virginia General Assembly for legislation and funding that defend, protect and support the most vulnerable among us. VICPP also provides Lewinsville and its contributing partners with a window into the workings of the Virginia General Assembly and information to help us decide how we, as individuals and as a congregation, might best advocate for the most needy across the state.
Our F&PP breakfast guest, VICPP Executive Director Kim Bobo, will share the Center’s accomplishments – and challenges – at advancing Virginia social justice legislation in Richmond during the last 2019 VA session and VICPP’s emerging advocacy agenda for the coming 2020 Virginia GA session year. The F&PP breakfast discussions will also include time to ask questions about the processes by which VICPP sets its social advocacy priorities and about specific GA legislative issues it addresses.
