At Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, we continue to be shaped and strengthened by the legacy of those who have served with grace and faithfulness. One such individual is J. Franklin Clark, who retired in 2004 after 37 years of dedicated service as our Minister of Music. Throughout his ministry, “J” was known for leading not just with musical excellence, but with deep pastoral care—placing more emphasis on the “minister” than the “music.” His heart for spiritual formation and his gift for mentoring young musicians left an enduring mark on our community.
In tribute to that legacy, Lewinsville joyfully continues the tradition of the J. Clark Young Artists Concert, an annual event in our Holy Happy Hour Concert Series. This special concert lifts up the next generation of gifted musicians while honoring “J’s” spirit of encouragement and nurture.
This year’s concert will take place on Sunday, May 18 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and we are pleased to welcome Anna Elise Smith as our featured artist. Anna Elise is a sophomore at Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, where she studies both harp and pipe organ. She will present a vibrant program of pipe organ masterworks, including works by Durué, Pachelbel, Bach, Verne, and Guilmant.
