Theater Night! – Saturday, July 13
It’s time for a Second Saturday Set dinner and community theater night again!
We have selected the community theater play Southern Hospitality at 8:00 pm at the Aldersgate Church Community Theater (ACCT) in Mount Vernon. Southern Hospitality is a comedy about four sisters trying to save a little Texas town in danger of disappearing under the forces of modernization and ‘globalization.’
The location is the Aldersgate Methodist Church at 1301 Collingwood Road at the corner of Fort Hunt Rd in Alexandria, a few miles from George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate.
We will precede the play with dinner (arrive between 5:30 & 6:00 pm) at the Riverbend Bistro Restaurant, 7966 Fort Hunt Road, ½ mile from the Aldersgate.
Group tickets for the play are $14 each. You can consult the Bistro’s al a carte menu at www.RiverBendBistro.com.
Call or contact Connie/Phil Church (703-534-9729, firstname.lastname@example.org) or Liz/Alan Stevens (703-938-8632, email@example.com) to let us know if you are coming so we can order tickets and give the restaurant a head count. Consult us also if we can arrange a ride for you with someone.
Come for both or come for just the dinner or just the play. Check your email also for more details on directions to dinner and the theater.
Directions to dinner: Take the Beltway past the mixing bowl to exit 177A, following signs to US 1 S/Ft Belvoir. Merge onto US 1S, slight right onto Old Richmond Hwy. An alternate way is to take the GW Parkway through Alexandria. About 4 miles past Alexandria, turn right onto Wellington Road for .3 miles, then turn right on Fort Hunt Road for .2 miles until you turn left into the shopping center where the restaurant is located.
Directions to the play (no dinner): Follow above directions to Fort Hunt Road. If you have come on the beltway, just keep going on Fort Hunt Road about ½ mile past the shopping center where the restaurant is. The church looks like a big upside down arc, very visible, on the right, corner of Fort Hunt Road and Collingwood. If you come by the parkway directions, when you reach Fort Hunt Road on Wellington Road, turn left for about .3 miles to the church on the right.
