On Reformation Sunday, October 30, 2022, Lewinsville is blessed to welcome Rev. Dr. Margaret Grun Kibben, Rear Admiral, Chaplain Corps, United States Navy (Retired), Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives, to teach the Adult Education Class at 9:30 a.m. and to preach at the 11:00 worship service.
Chaplain Grun Kibben is a graduate of Goucher College and Princeton Theological Seminary, as well as the Naval War College. She served as a Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace and holds a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Born and raised in Warrington, Pennsylvania, Margaret came on active duty in 1986. Her career spans both Navy and Marine Corps assignments serving both ashore, at sea, and abroad to include a combat-tour in Afghanistan. She is married to Tim (Lt. Col. USMC Ret.) and has a daughter, Lindsay.
As we reflect on Reformation Sunday about our theological tradition and the ways that it prepares us and calls us for engagement in the world, we are honored to have one of the leaders in the church, and one of our nation’s leaders, with us. We hope that you will join us for this special day.
