The Trinity
May 5, 12, 19 | 9:30-10:30 a.m. | Led by Linton Brooks Room 102B
Embark on a journey of exploration with Linton Brooks as we delve into the concept of the Trinity.
The word Trinity appears nowhere in either testament of the Christian Bible. Yet most Christians, including those in the Reformed Tradition, have come to believe that our God is one in essence and consists of three persons.
We are taught to believe these crucial truths:
(1) the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct persons;
(2) each person is fully God
(3) there is only one God.
A God that could be fully understood by God’s creation would be no God at all. Those in this course will not attempt to describe Trinity. Rather, drawing on both scripture and other analysis we will discuss what insights we can gain into the Trinity’s importance for our faith. The course will conclude on Pentecost with a discussion of how we should view the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
