Christmas Eve at Lewinsville

We welcome you to Lewinsville to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, on Christmas Eve! We offer three services of worship from which to choose. Please note that masks are required inside our building. In addition, due to the rising Omnicron variant of Covid-19, our medical team has advised us to request the congregation NOT sing the carols until the Silent Night at the end of our services.  We know that singing the carols is one of the joys of attending Christmas Eve services, and we are so saddened to make this request.  But we want to keep the gathering as safe as possible for all attendees.

  • The 4:30 pm Family Christmas Eve Service will be preceded by Family Caroling and Cocoa at 4:15 pm outside the front door. This candlelight Christmas Eve service will feature the story of the nativity presented by life-sized puppets.  Children’s choirs will be singing, and all children will be invited to participate in the friendly beast Carol.  We will close by singing “Silent Night” in candlelit darkness.
  • At 6:30 pm we will present a Christmas Eve Prelude Concert with the Lewinsville Chancel Choir and Lewinsville HandBells performing Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols with harp and cello.
  • 7:00 pm Candlelight Communion Service, led by the Rev. Dr. Scott Ramsey, will feature the Lewinsville Chancel Choir.
    • Scriptures: Psalm 96 and the Gospel of Luke 2:1-20
  • 9:30 pm Candlelight Communion Service, led by the Rev. Dr. Scott Ramsey, will include our Youth Alumni Choir and Handbells.
    • Scriptures: Psalm 96 and the Gospel of Luke 2:1-20
    • Sermon Title: A New Song

Music of the Season with organ, choirs and handbells will be featured at all services.
We invite all in our community to celebrate Christmas with us!
