GET CONNECTED with our CHURCH FAMILY … responding to human need

Tuesday, March 1, 2022

Our Theme for the 2022 Lenten Devotions will be The Spirituality of the Psalms.

For centuries the Psalms have been at the heart of the church’s spiritual practice – practices which we have learned from our Jewish neighbors and ancestors. What is remarkable about the Psalms is the comprehensive breadth of the human experience that they encompass. Every significant emotion that is part of our lives is drawn up into the psalms – joy, grief, anger, wonder, rage, confusion, serenity. They’re all there, which means that they are all incorporated into our lives of faith.

We are invited to bring every aspect of who we are to God in our prayers, and the Psalms help us to practice doing just that. Everything belongs.

Our Lenten devotions will correspond loosely with our sermon series of the same name during Lent. Our hope is that the devotions and the sermon series will reinforce each other and inspire us to deeper thinking and more faithful living.

We are grateful to all of our devotional authors for their submissions, and we invite you to ponder them as reflections for our Lenten journeys. The thoughts in each devotion represent those of the author and not necessarily Lewinsville Presbyterian Church.
