WELCOME TO YOUTH MINISTRY @LEWINSVILLE!
The Lewinsville Youth Fellowship program involves grades 7-12 and meets weekly on Sunday evenings in conjunction and cooperation with the youth choir program (Lewinsville Choristers and Lewinsville Bells) and the new Puppet Training for Grades 7-12.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, we’ve gone virtual this fall! Youth Fellowship meetings will mainly be held via Zoom each Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:15 pm. Choirs and Puppets will also happen via Zoom on Sunday afternoons, rotating with HOOPS, an in-person, socially distanced events for children and youth. Read more HERE about HOOPS.
Though it doesn’t feel like back-to-school time from years past, the Lewinsville Youth are excited for the year ahead and committed to keeping this community strong as we all continue to cope with the ways Covid-19 has affected our lives. While many of our gatherings will continue to meet on Zoom, we are also working on hosting a variety of events to keep things interesting, such as the return of Youth Dinners and introducing Saturday morning Coffee and Convos, which will take place once a month (coffee not required to attend). Lastly, starting at our Youth Kick-Off on August 30th, the youth will participate in a Secret Pen-Pal Challenge for the whole fall semester as a way to stay connected and even make new friends while we are apart. We know that it’s been hard to find ways to stay connected, and sometimes it might seem easier to just check out, but we hope that you’ll plan to participate in some of our events this fall as we bare witness to the unfolding of God’s kingdom here at Lewinsville.
Meet our new Interim Coordinator for Youth Ministry, BEN EVANS!
Here at Lewinsville, the youth are part of our congregational life. Our students serve in Sunday morning worship, join in intergenerational activities and events through the Sunday morning Christian Education program, and share in missionand service through Sunday evening Youth Fellowship. The students also serve and reach out to the surrounding community through involvement with mission & service projects done in conjunction with Lewinsville’s Mission & Service Ministry Group and mission oriented groups like World Vision, Share, and the Salvation Army.
The Annual Summer Mission Project in June is an important program at Lewinsville, and we encourage all high school youth to participate.
