McLean Interfaith Coalition Volunteer Opportunities

Lewinsville has been part of the McLean Interfaith Coalition(MIC) since 2004, working with other congregations in McLean and Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia to build and repair affordable housing in the local area.  In September 2016 Habitat dedicated two new homes in Alexandria which volunteers from MIC, including some from Lewinsville, helped build.  Below is a photo of the completed houses.

Workdays for the winter and spring (8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) are:

The Alexandria site is a new single family home and the Lorton site is a rehab of an existing townhouse.

Volunteers supply their own lunch and Habitat supplies water and tools. If you bring your own tools, be sure they are identified with your name. If you’re interested in joining volunteers from other McLean congregations on any of the scheduled work days, contact Mary Frase, the Lewinsville representative to MIC, or 703-536-4091.
