Scott joined Lewinsville as Interim Pastor in August 2015 and became Pastor in September 2018. His primary goal in ministry is to cultivate a community of people who are becoming apprentices to Jesus, learning from him how to live our lives with both contemplation and action. The church lives at the intersection of God’s grace and the world’s pain, which means that at any given moment, you can find people laughing or weeping, often in the same conversation.
Scott lives with his wife, the Rev. Dr. Laura Cunningham, and their two children, Will and Ginny, in Arlington. A South Carolina native, Scott attended Princeton University, and received his M. Div. and D. Min. degrees from Columbia Seminary in Decatur, GA. Scott enjoys hiking and playing tennis, and has been known to attempt to play golf.
